Dance Concert Poster
This was a lot of fun to do, There really are billions of possibilities on what to do in photo editing, I wanted to keep the final project simple although I was playing for weeks.
A special thanks to my great model, my nephew Jackson, who was showing off all his dance moves for me. He takes dance at the studio that I work at.
I think that in a class this would be a lot of fun to get my students involved in the concert and make it their own. This is not a project that I would use in an entry level dance class, but instead with my dance company. I think it would be great to create an entire unit our of creating a dance concert poster. We would be able to decide the concert themes and brainstorm what we want in the mood of the concert. Then have a photo shoot with the studentst that they may be able to be a part of the experience. I would then take them into the lab on one to to introduce them to the program walk throug the steps necessary to create a poster. Depending whether the school was on a block schedule or an everyday class schedule. They would have that class to work on their poster then one more day of class, then i would have the disc copy due one week later. We would them as a class be able to look at what the other students created and vote on what we want to do for our concert poster to represent our company to our school.

This looks great! I'm really impressed with a very professional looking poster. Could you answer a few questions for me please?
ReplyDelete1. What program did you use to create this poster?
2. How would you use the image you edited in your instruction/in your classroom?
3. What other instructional problems could you use this technology for?
4. What are 2-3 activities you could use this technology for in your own teaching?
5. List the instructional standards these activities will meet.
Thanks!
I just noticed that Professor West already seems to be in touch with you. He has some detailed feedback on gradebook.... I'm sure you're in touch with him.
ReplyDelete1. I used adobe photoshop
ReplyDelete2. this particular project was to be used as an advertisement to get the word out for a show my dancers would do, getting the students involved in the photography and the experience of a good photoshoot
3. For me i would use this to design my classroom and make it motivational for my students and to clarify the unit that we are working on in the classroom. As well as advertise to the community upcoming events.
4. I listed this with 3
5. This meets utah dance Standard 4. Students will be able to identify ways to comunicate meaning through dance.
Fun poster. You'll use photoshop skills for the rest of your life and not just in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteThe poster is very catching and should make people excited to see the show. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat Poster! I can see how this would be great to advertise for students performances. Maybe you could teach them the same tools since they could use it in their dancing future.
ReplyDeleteThis poster is so great! It would be great to advertise for classes or events. I will have to look into using this for myself when I teach. :)
